03/18/2015 (Denmark) – Shots were fired in a Copenhagen shopping centre on Wednesday, 18 March, according to Danish television station TV2. Police told local media gunfire wounded two people in the parking basement of the Field’s shopping centre in Amager, south-west of Copenhagen. The Ekstra Bladet tabloid reported police had detained two people. Witnesses said the shooter was wearing body armour. No further details were made available.

The identity and motive of the shooter is not currently known. Police have not released additional details. Travellers should stay abreast of security-related developments, exercise awareness in public spaces, and immediately report any suspicious object, package, person or activity to the authorities. Travellers in Amager are advised to remain in a secure location and avoid the vicinity of the Field’s shopping centre. Security is likely to be tight in the area, which will cause disruptions to any attempted travel.
